Home renovation in Essex, managed by one team from start to finish
From tired family homes to older properties that need bringing up to date, we renovate whole houses: layouts, electrics, plumbing, kitchens, bathrooms and finishes.
Whole-home renovations without the coordination headache
A full renovation is where having every trade under one roof matters most. Rewiring, replumbing, moving walls, fitting a new kitchen and bathroom, then plastering and decorating all have to happen in the right order. When separate contractors are involved, one delay knocks on to the next. With Phoenix B&K, our own team plans and carries out every stage.
We work for homeowners, landlords and developers, on everything from post-war semis to period cottages. Older homes often hide surprises behind the plaster, such as old wiring, lead or iron pipework and floors that have moved over time, so we survey carefully and plan for them rather than surprising you later.
Renovating in stages? We can phase the work, for example starting with a new bathroom or kitchen and returning for the rest. If you are adding space as well, see our building works and extensions service.

Home renovation FAQs
Can we live in the house during a renovation?
Often, yes, if the work is phased. For larger renovations, especially when the only bathroom or the kitchen is out of action, some people choose to stay elsewhere for part of the job. We will talk this through when we plan the work.
Do you renovate older and period homes?
Yes. Period properties need extra care with uneven walls, timber floors and listed status. If your home is listed, some changes need listed building consent from the council.
Do you work for landlords and developers?
Yes. We work for homeowners, landlords and developers, including refurbishments between tenancies and electrical safety work.
Can you work to a budget?
Yes. We will give you an honest view of what your budget can achieve and suggest where to prioritise.
