Building, Plumbing, Electrical & Renovation Services in Bury St Edmunds
From the abbey town to the new estates
Bury St Edmunds grew up around its great abbey, and its centre has an exceptional mix of medieval and Georgian townhouses, many of them listed, along with Victorian terraces. Beyond the old town, areas such as Moreton Hall have large numbers of modern family homes.
Those two sides of Bury bring very different work. In the historic centre, bathrooms and kitchens need careful planning around period features, and listed building consent may apply. In newer homes, the requests are more often kitchen refurbishments, ensuite upgrades and extensions. Our guides to kitchen refurb or full replacement and choosing a bathroom fitter cover both.
Where someone in the household has a disability, West Suffolk Council may be able to help with the cost of an accessible bathroom through a Disabled Facilities Grant, as explained in our DFG guide. We also cover nearby Great Barton, Fornham St Martin, Nowton, Rougham and Thurston.
